I feel the workshop was very relevant to my subject area. Biology is a natural science concerned with the study of life and living organisms, including their structure, function, growth, origin, evolution, distribution, and taxonomy. In my subject area of Earth Science we study some studies of life and living organisms. We also study the origin and evolution of Earth. This is definitely something I can model in my classroom. I can tailor these plans to any lesson in the book; I can consider it as something new to my curriculum. I would be very interested in a similar workshop that discusses other strategies to better help the student in the content area because I know writing can be difficult and time consuming for many students. It a complex job and by having a similar workshop we can learn the right tools to use. After participating in this workshop I incorporated in my lesson plans some strategies that are deliberate and focus on thinking about writing such as book reports.
